A Bit About Letter Templates

Today, emails are the fundamental way to communicate with customers for any business and with the help of a beautiful, refined style of letters, you can create the right impression about your brand. We can both develop a design for your letters, and convert PSD to email template with a ready-made design.

Technically, the layout of letters is very different from regular sites, as there are a number of restrictions and requirements for the letters to be displayed correctly in all email clients. Often such restrictions are introduced for security reasons. Here are some of them:

  • Only safe web fonts can be used. Since for emails you cannot automatically upload any files without the knowledge of the client, there is no way to link third-party fonts and you need to use only those that are already preinstalled in most OS. These include: Arial, Calibri, Helvetica, Segoe UI, Trebuchet MS, Georgia, Impact, Times New Roman, Verdana, Consolas, Palatino, Courier New and some others. But there are exceptions to any of the rules, so we have a couple of life hacks, how to use custom brand fonts.
  • Styles are included directly in the file, inline. This is also due to the fact that it is not possible to link third-party files for security purposes;
  • You cannot use JavaScript. Even if you insert JavaScript code in the letter, it will not work, the letter will be regarded as malicious. Such a letter will not reach, and if there are many recipients from one mail server, then it will be banned;
  • For all images that contain essential information, the alt attribute must be registered, which corresponds to the content of the image, as some users have disabled the automatic loading of images in the mail client by default;
  • For HTML, table layout is used. Thanks to this, emails can be opened in email clients and browsers that do not support new versions of HTML and CSS. Table layout is a guarantee that the letter will not “disperse” and will normally display on all platforms, including fairly old ones.

We should also talk about the letters that are used in e-commerce. For online stores, this is the main tool that allows you to automate sales. A properly configured system of letters and email reminders can significantly increase the number of sales, increase brand recognition, and will attract the attention of more customers.

  • On average, a letter is made within one business day from the moment the contract for a job is signed.

If the letter, for example, is a business card or a card of a single product, then it can be vertical with a width of 320-360 pixels. And if this is a promotional mailing, then it can be of a larger format in order to achieve some beautiful graphic effect.
  • Code made in the generator has a right to exist. But the code that they generate contains a lot of extra code, and because of this it becomes impossible to support it normally and often you have to redo the template from scratch in order to make any changes.
